This Sunday, January 8th, 2017, at The Bridge Church in Denton, Texas, Pastor Duane unpacked the word of the year for 2017 – Over the Top!

Word of the Year:

“Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Selah. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion.” (Psalm 84:4-7 NKJV)

When you dwell in the house, you are blessed! When it talks about going from strength to strength, it doesn’t mean going from strength, to weakness, strength, to weakness. Instead, God is adding on the strength, so you go strength, to strength, to strength.

“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the LORD’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”(Isaiah 2:2-3, NKJV)

Many people will say, “Come let us go up!” There is a call to go upward. A call that takes you higher.

We are in a season to go up. You could also say that we are in a season to shift. It’s time to go up! You’ve done everything you can do at this level, and scripture has called for you to go up the mountain that you have been climbing.

As you climb, you feel like you are just going round and round,  but really you are going higher and higher. When you reach the summit, then you go Over The Top.

When you get Over The Top, you have a:

  • New Perspective
  • New Horizons
  • New Possibilities

God says “You’ve been climbing, climbing, climbing. Now it’s time to go Over The Top!”

When you go Over The Top, your ceiling becomes your floor.

Lift the lid, and remember, God wants to make your ceiling your floor. When you get Over The Top, you see what you could not see before. You begin to see what is next. There is a cry for what’s next, and now it’s time for your next.

You don’t have to be first to be next. Sometimes the enemy of what’s next is what was. Faith brings next into the now.

Do you have faith to go Over The Top and see what is next?
